Game Description:
Math Kick is a special math game designed to help students understand angles. It is similar to how students practice reading angles on a protractor, only this time it is on a digital screen.
An Engaging Way to Learn About Angles
Grade 4 is around the time when elementary school students begin to learn more than basic geometry. Math Kick delivers a fun and engaging introduction to the world of measuring angles. Students can practice identifying and measuring angles in this math game with a soccer sports theme.
The Math Kick game shows an overview of one end of a soccer field, where two opposing soccer players (red and blue players) stand in front of a goal net. A digital protractor sits in front of the players, with a needle point sticking out of a soccer ball. The needle sways back and forth across the 180-degree semicircle. The objective is to select one of the two angle options that will direct the soccer ball into the goal.
Enhance Angle Measurement Skills
Math Kick is particularly designed for students who want to learn, understand, and enhance their skills at measuring angles on a protractor device. Not only will they learn how to use a protractor device, but they will also learn about acute and obtuse angle measurements by seeing what those angles look like.
How to Play
- Wait for the title screen to load. It will show the title “Math Kick” with the PLAY button underneath.
- Tap the PLAY button to begin the game. It will tell you to “Win 10 Goals to Win Trophy”
- You will see an overview angle of an animated soccer field with two players on it. The needle on a digital protractor will sway back and forth 180 degrees.
- Two angle options are presented underneath. You must select the correct angle that will pass the soccer ball through the needle and to your blue teammate, who will then hit the ball into the goal.
- You will have 10 rounds to play for 10 points.
- As the game gets more difficult, you will see more red opposing players with more angle options. Just remember to only choose the angle that will direct the ball to the blue player, not the red players.
Educational Benefits
- A fun introduction to the concept of angle measurements in math.
- Teach 4th grade students about what different angles look like.
